Raquel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more silk, cotton and alpaca wool for her shawls and accessories.

Raquel's story

Raquel is a Peruvian clothing designer and weaver. She would like to stock up on silk, cotton and alpaca wool for her shawls, scarves and accessories. She also plans to buy equipment for dying the yarn in her workshop.

Raquel has been selling through NOVICA since 2006. This is her story:

Raquel, who works alongside her husband, Gregor, is dedicated to preserving Peruvian textile traditions. "What draws us to weaving is the opportunity to work with natural fibers by rescuing ancient Inca weaving techniques. We love to see the transformation of loose yarns into garments and accessories. We help an Andean community by employing weavers on traditional looms who then help us finish each piece by hand."

"I am very grateful to all of you who collaborate with this cause. This microcredit will help us to continue growing and developing our art, and be able to be at the vanguard with our designs. We want to please all of our shoppers. Thank you!"
