A loan helped to buy paper reams, kerosene lamps, toilet paper, and light bulbs.
Msingi Group's story
Kitendwa, age 54, is vice president of the Msingi village bank. She's married to a businessman and they have eight children together, who all go to school. For more than 30 years, she's been selling her products at the central market. She's seeking a new loan to buy three boxes of paper ream costing $66, one box of kerosene lamps costing $50, 10 boxes of toilet paper costing $120, and two boxes of light bulbs costing $46. $18 will be used to cover transportation costs. She hopes to expand her business and become a wholesaler. She thanks Kiva's partner, Hekima, for making it easier for her children to attend school.
