Al-Hudda Group's story

This group, called Al-Hudda Group, is made up of six women from Sana`a, Yemen. They are heads of households and they got together with the idea of helping their families. Their community is in a rural area surrounded b a field and they have many clients, mostly women. The whole group took out a loan of 450,000 YER. Huda is 38 years old. For many years, Huda has been embroidering cloth and selling it, which has enabled her to develop a significant customer base. Huda`s most important challenges are to work hard to gain extra income and to better her business structure. She says that she always has many orders from her customers, especially because she offers good quality in her embroidery work and it is not very expensive. She is receiving a loan of 80,000 YER from AMB in order to fulfill existing orders for her customers. She would like to purchase fabric, needles, and other items. In the future, she would like to achieve her potential by opening an embroidery shop where she can distribute her goods to the market.
