Carmen Maria's story
31 year old Carmen is married and has two children. She is originally from Sauce, a place in the north of the country. She can be characterized as hardworking, responsible, and full of desire to get ahead. In her free time, she likes to enjoy the company of her children. Unfortunately, she was note able to finish school because of a lack of financial resources. Today, she strives day to day to offer her children a better future. Thanks to her efforts and her desire to succeed, she has a grocery store, which is a little store where she sells food in small quantities such as rice, beans, sugar, milk, bread, eggs, cheese, cream, detergents, juices, sodas. She works in her store 12 hours a day, selling her products, and it is in her home. The goal of this loan is to have business capital and to supply her store where she buys and sells groceries so that, in the near future, she can make better profits. Carmen is grateful for the help that the Kiva lenders offer to people who have scarce resources and to poor countries such as Nicaragua so that they can have dignified work.
