A loan helped to buy cabbage seeds and potato seeds to plant.

Jesús's story

Jesús is a 39-year-old man. He is married and lives with his nine children, three of whom are sons and six of whom are daughters, in the Sololá region. He says that he has worked in agriculture for 20 years, growing cabbage, potatoes, and carrots a few kilometers from his home. He also sells it in the local market of his community, with the goal of increasing his income and earnings to be able to cover his family’s expenses. With this job, he can use his time to do other things to help his family as well. So he is asking for a loan of 4,000 quetzales to buy cabbage seedlings (seeds) and potato seeds that will work for his planting. His biggest dream is to buy a plot of land to be able to increase his income, with the goal of improving his family’s living conditions.
