A loan helped to purchase four cows.

Hermine's story

Hermine is from Katnaghbyur village of Aragatsotn region. She lives with her husband and son and together with them has been involved in agriculture for more than 25 years. They keep a livestock of cows, chickens, pigs and calves and also cultivate potatoes and grass. Hermine uses the milk to produce cheese and sells it locally. The income from agriculture is important for this family so they would like to improve and increase it. By asking for this loan Hermine would like to purchase 4 cows which will help her to gather more milk and increase cheese production. Hermine has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to repay. However, thanks to the hard work during the recent times, Hermine was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments. So, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. The loan will greatly help Hermine and her family and she will be very grateful for lenders' support.
