Cindy's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to purchase the equipment needed for an additional food tent.
Pho Realz?!'s last Kiva loan gave them the boost they needed to get their budding business off the ground. As their pop-up noodle business has grown, they are now seeking a second $10,000 Kiva loan to purchase the equipment needed for an additional food tent, enabling them to be at multiple locations simultaneously. They are confident that their business will experience growth in the coming year with the help of Kiva lenders! Working as a husband and wife team, Cindy and Ves created a mobile food tent which capitalized on their mutual love for South-East Asian food—in particular, pho or Vietnamese rice noodles. Their shared passion for food instilled in them a desire to provide an experience defined by quality service and authentic delicious food. Although they both loved the idea of opening a food truck, they decided to start small with a food tent instead. They have since been sharing their love of Pho at farmers markets throughout the San Diego area. Financial capital has been the chief hurdle that Cindy and her husband have had to overcome. Furthermore, Cindy shared that their biggest struggle is getting the word out about their unique, local food tent. Regardless of the obstacles, she says that they both enjoy the challenge and are committed to the long-term success of their business. Cindy finds value and passion in partnering with the local community and giving back, explaining that she has a deep appreciation for a locally oriented, hospitable mindset. She hopes in the future that her business can continue to share a love of different cultures while working with the community.
