A loan helped To buy crockery and utensils to sell.

M. Ashiq's story

M. Ashiq is a 60-year-old man living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. He owns a small crockery store, in which he sells utensils and crockery items such as plates, dishes, cups, jars, glass, jugs, mugs, cauldrons and buckets. M. Ashiq is a father of seven children and is the only responsible person, who has to feed them. He has only one source of income and he has to pay the utility bills and household expenses by himself. The condition of his house is not up to the mark according to the living standards. M. Ashiq wants to buy more inventories to sell because most of his female customers purchase utensils in a large quantity for making a dowry. For this purpose, more inventories are required to cope with the sudden increase in the demand. M. Ashiq requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner’s BRAC Pakistan, so he can buy utensil and crockery items and generate more income. M. Ashiq is very thankful to Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan because they showed him a beam of hope to fulfill his desires.
