A loan helped to purchase two cows and renovate the barn.

Shahane's story

Shahane is married and has two children. She is from Verishen village. Her husband is a furniture maker and Shahane is a lecturer at Goris State University. For tackling financial hardships she has also been involved in agriculture for six years. She keeps livestock of 10 pigs, 20 chickens, and seven cows. She makes different agricultural products and sells them to local retailers. To enlarge her business and improve her farm Shahane requested a loan from SEF International, which she will use to purchase two cows and renovate the barn. She had already taken a loan from a local financial institution, but was unable to pay it back. Thanks to recent hard work, Shahane and her husband were able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that they will be able to cover the monthly payments. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products.
