A loan helped to buy fish and condiments.
Fatoumata's Group's story
The Banc Villageois was established on December 14, 2010. It is made up of women who all live in the same village and go along perfectly well. Most of them are retailers or run rainy season farming businesses. Mrs. Fatoumata (standing on the far-right and raising her hand in the photograph) is the group's featured borrower. She's 51 years old, married, and the mother of one girl. She sells fresh fish and various condiments. She gets her supplies every two weeks from the country's south coast. She retails at the village's market. She has a good experience in this field, where she's been active for several years. With this new loan, she intends to buy fish for XOF 75'000, and various condiments for XOF 10'000. In addition to bolstering her savings to obtain larger loans, her profits (expected to amount to about XOF 50'000 per two-week period) will enable her to support her husband in taking care of the family's expenses.
