A loan helped to purchase more fish for resale.
Meet 36-year-old Mariatu from Waterloo2, Western rural area in Freetown. She is married with three children. In 2010, Mariatu established her fish business. She began her business because she wanted to create a permanent source of income to empower herself. She works at the business for ten hours per day, six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is price inflation and insufficient capital to expand her business. Mariatu requires a loan in order to purchase more fish for resale. She hopes that the extra income from increased sales will allow her to change her status of living and increase her business. In the future, Mariatu plans to build a house. She thanks you for your support.
