Spider Group's story
Halima is a married woman and has one grown daughter. Halima is in her late forties. For the past seven years, she has been involved with two businesses. Her food business sells cassava and coconuts at the town market. Her clothing business sells Islamic-styled dresses and fabrics door to door. She works daily from 6:00am to 4:00pm and is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be her second loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. Halima used the previous loan to buy clothes to increase her sales. She wishes to improve her clothing business to include a show room. Halima does not have the capital to rent a store front. By renting a premise, she will no longer need to go door to door after working at the market. Halima has managed to pay back her previous loan. With the profit, she will have enough money to rent a clothing shop. Halima requests this loan to buy cassava, coconuts and clothes to resell. She will share this loan with her loan group "Spider" which consist of 8 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable to repay the loan.
