Samphan's Group's story
Samphan, a young mother of two dependent kids, is a 27-year-old farmer who grows rice as the main source of income. To supplement the family income, her husband also catches fish to resale. Currently, she is able to earn up to 13,900 KHR per day from the business that she has had for several years. Samphan, a fourth-time borrower, and her co-borrower, who is a first-time borrower, are in a group of two with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). The past loan has enabled her to improve her living conditions better than before. Now, she and her co-borrower are seeking a loan of 1,000,000 KHR each. As the leader, she will spend her entire loan portion to buy two sacks of fertilizer and to buy fishing materials to catch more fish. She hopes to earn more income from her business.
