Group 18 - An Thanh 01's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 18 - An Thanh 01's story

Thinh is 60 years old and works in agricultural production, with a monthly income of approximately 700,000 VND. Thinh and her husband are now living in a house with their grown-up son who is married. Her son has two children and they are currently attending high school. She has been a member of the Women's Union since 1972. Thinh is fully aware of the fact that using a degraded double-pit latrine has the risks of potential adverse effects on the health of her family members, her community and environmental contamination. However, she has not yet been able to construct a septic tank latrine due to a shortage of funds. With a portion of this loan, she will be able to buy materials to build a hygienic septic tank latrine and a hand-washing device with soap. Those facilities would help her family improve their health and living conditions, while affording safety for them (particularly at night and during rainstorms). In addition this will provide convenience, cleanliness and privacy for all family members, while contributing to the environmental protection of the community. In the picture, Thinh is the second from the right.
