but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy animal feed and make a corral for chickens.

Santa Marianita (Cuenca) Group's story

The Santa Marianita group is made up of five women and one man, who live in the city of Santa Ana in Cuenca, an area with beautiful scenery. One can admire the city of Cuenca from the center of their parish. The people still maintain the culture and traditions of their villages. The members are friendly, kind people who always have a smile on their face despite their problems. They are fighters who are always looking to improve the stability of their households and to give their children a better future. One of the members of this group is Juana, 35. She is married with three children, ages 8, 11, and 13. Her oldest daughter is in high school and her two youngest are in elementary school. Her husband has emigrated to give the family a better future. They do not have their own home, so they live with her mother. Juana cleans houses and raises pigs, guinea pigs, and chickens. She also works in agriculture. These activities give her the opportunity to contribute to her household finances. She will use this loan to make a corral for chickens and to buy feed for her animals. Her goal is to grow her chicken business.
