Avelina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy glutinous rice, coconuts, sugar and milk.

Avelina's story

Avelina is a 45-year-old married woman who hails from Cortes, Bohol. She has four children. She has been in the food vending business for 16 years. She sells suman (a rice cake made from glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk, and often steamed in banana leaves), biko (a Filipino sweet sticky traditional rice cake that is made of glutinous rice or malagkit, coconut milk or gata) and puto (the Filipino term for “rice cake”, which is cooked by steaming). She has requested a loan of 16,000 PHP to buy more ingredients like glutinous rice, coconuts, sugar and milk. In the future, Avelina would like to expand her business to further increase business profitability and better support her family.
