A loan helped to buy a solar panel for his home.
Rene Miguel's story
Miguel is a young, enthusiastic worker who lives in the community of Sardinal with his parents and siblings. He says that with his parents' sacrifice, he managed to study up until the first year of secondary school. Afterwards, he did not continue studying because the school was very far away and he felt that he should help his father with the farm labor by working the fields with coffee crops and basic grains. This is the source of income for him and his family to survive. He says that he also buys, sells and repairs used motorcycles. This is a hobby for him as well as an additional source of income. In his parents' home, there is already a small solar power system. They would like to expand this to have lights in the entire house, as well as to be able to use the iron, radio and charge cell phones. Therefore, he has applied for a loan to buy a solar module for his home to improve the quality of life for his parents and siblings.
