Tugaigahare Group's story

Scovia is married and has three children, aged 7, 9 and 12, who are all in school. She has a restaurant business which she started in the year 2009 with high hopes that it would generate enough income to cater for the needs of her family. Scovia also sells bananas which forms her other source of income. Her business is located in Ishaka Town in Bushenyi District and her clients are mainly people in and around Bushenyi. She would like to use the loan to buy bananas for trade so that her profits can be better than they have always been. Scovia describes herself as a hard working and honest woman who has seen the business grow from one level to another. She is mainly challenged by the high taxes which she pays but she strongly believes that this will stop being a problem if the loan is given and she gets increased profits. Her hopes for the future include giving her children the best education so that they can compete with others for better positions and jobs in future.
