Asunción's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a Sistema Biobolsa biodigester and biogas stove.

Asunción's story

Asunción, a Poblano dairy farmer, is viewed as a leader by his neighbors and fellow farmers due to his vision. He is open and readily-accepting of new technologies and always tries to benefit fully from his available resources. His dairy cows generate an abundant quantity of manure daily, which he plans on feeding to his newly-acquired 12 cubic meter Sistema Biobolsa biodigester. The treatment process inside his digester will convert the "waste" into two potent resources -- renewable biogas and a potent biofertilizer. The biogas will displace the expensive, non-renewable propane his family currently uses to cook and heat bathwater. Asunción will apply the biofertilizer to his crops, including the forage crops he uses to feed his cows. He'll save money, reduce the environmental impact of his farm, and take advantage of a resource he hasn't adequately benefitted from. This loan represents 46% of the total cost of his Sistema Biobolsa biodigester and biogas stove.
