A loan helped to buy fertilizer.
Chinquillas Group's story
Ruben is 44 years old, married, has three children, and lives in the town of Colinas, Santa Barbara. He has always been a farmer of basic grains and has been raising bananas, for two years, which he sells in his local area or to wholesalers. Ruben decided to request a group loan in the amount of 20,000 Lempiras to buy fertilizer for his bananas and to plant half an acre of land. By applying the fertilizer he will have a better crop and he will increase his income and quality of life for his family. The group is called Chinquillas and is made up of people from the same community who all raise bananas. Ruben appears to the right of the photo, wearing a t-shirt, and Mario is to the left and wearing a hat.
