M. Shafique's story
M. Shafique, aged forty, is an energetic man living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. He has been doing this business for many years and getting a reasonable income for his family. He is responsible for his children, siblings and old parents. His father has grown old and does not do any job. His uses all efforts to provide comfort to his parents and younger brothers. He is a milkman by profession. He sells milk and bull calf to the butcher. He has few buffalo; he gets milk two times in a day. He delivers milk in the market and door-to-door. For delivery purposes, he uses his motorbike. He loads milk cans on his bike and delivers them early in the morning. His customers like the fresh and delicious milk he delivers. His monthly net income is too low to meet the household needs. He has to afford the expense for fodder and the whole household expenses alone. Therefore, M. Shafique requested from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so that he would be able to buy an additional buffalo to get more milk to sell. With the profit amount, he can easily buy the fodder for his herd. M. Shafique wants to increase his herd by purchasing more cattle so that he could cherish his whole family in well manners. M. Shafique thanks Kiva and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
