Agustin Buanerje's story
Agustín is 63 years old, married with three adult children. He is from the central area of the country. He is known for being hard-working, responsible, with a great desire to succeed. From a very young age he has worked in the business that he inherited from his parents. Currently he is striving to maintain his business and keep it going. Thanks to his effort and his desire to succeed he has a business selling basic staples such as rice, beans, cereals, cooking oil and soap. He has his business in his home and works in it some 10 hours daily selling his products. The purpose of the loan is to invest in working capital and to supply his business buying and selling staples so that someday in the not-too-distant future he can obtain better income. Agustín is grateful for the help that the Kiva lenders offer to poor countries like Nicaragua and to low-income people so that they can have a decent livelihood.
