A loan helped to buy more clothes for his business.

Sulaiti's story

Sulaiti is 32 years old and lives in the town of Nakaloke in the region of Iganga in Uganda. He is married and has three children, with two of them currently in school. For the past five years, Sulaiti has been working hard to manage his clothes business, which deals in clothing of different kinds. To help expand his business, Sulaiti has requested a loan of UGX 2,500,000 from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes for his business. It will help Sulaiti to generate greater profits and expand the business, which will bring about more income to be used for education of his children. Sulaiti hopes that in the future he will be able to get a bigger shop. Sulaiti is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Sulaiti who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
