Mina De Oro Group's story

The lending group "Mina de Oro" [Gold Mine] will begin their second cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the focal center of Senkata. The group has 8 members and a board of directors led by the president, Julia. The members have various businesses including: raising cattle, making blankets, public transportation, selling medicinal products, selling repair parts, selling sheep, and sewing blankets.

This loan will benefit small business owners like Julia, who has been a part of Pro Mujer for two years, joining at the invitation of her friends who are members. Currently she has a sewing business. She learned it because she helped out in the family business, and later when she got married she decided to work independently. The loan will help her to buy fabric in the traditional markets on the Peruvian-Bolivian border and later she will make things to sell in her store. This work allows her to generate income to sustain her family - her husband and two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says the savings that she has in the institution.
