Rogers's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a mobile phone, solar charging set, and weighing scale so that he may provide vital farming information to his community.

Rogers's story

Rogers is 31 years old, married, and has five children. He earns his income through the sale of crops and livestock, and earns a monthly wage as a Community Knowledge Worker (CKW). Community Knowledge Workers are trusted community members, who provide agricultural data and advice to rural farmers in their local area including information about the weather, market prices, crop diseases, and agricultural tools. On his land, Rogers grows maize, beans, coffee, and cassava. He also has cows, goats, sheep, turkeys, and chickens. As a CKW, Rogers will use the materials in his business-in-a-box (a smartphone, a solar charging set, and a weighing scale) to disseminate vital agricultural information to the other members of his village, helping them to improve their crop yields and increase their incomes. With the additional money he will earn as a CKW, Rogers will pay school fees for his children. His biggest dream in life is to have 5,000 coffee trees.
