Hallala's story

Hallala is a 41-year-old mother of four from southern Israel. She was taken out of school after ninth grade but has always been determined to learn and gain skills. Hallala began taking part in a local women’s forum, and through the forum she learned crochet, sewing and jewelry making. She has worked with KIEDF gaining basic business management skills and developed her microenterprise. Hallala took small loans in the past to open and manage her business, always paying back on time. She now needs to expand further and upgrade some of her materials and equipment. Hallala needed this loan to purchase a sewing machine, specialized equipment, beads, string, wool and other materials. Hallala’s husband supports her work and believes she is developing a good business, adding to their family’s income. Hallala wants to continue to strengthen her business and provide for her children.
