Tara's story

Tara always dreamed of instilling in children a love of education through fun and games. So, while pursuing her MBA at Rutgers Newark, she worked with her professors on creating an “edu-tainment” business—Brick City Bricks for Kidz. Her program builds on children’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills through games meant to excite and involve. In one example, kids use lego bricks to construct buildings and machines, all the while exercising their creativity. Tara’s business will aim towards Newark-area kids ages tots to early teens, whether they’re having birthday parties or are involved in after-school programs. With the help of her professors and this microloan, she will make a positive impact on the lives of Newark children. Tara will use this loan to purchase supplies. She will purchase boxes; lego bricks; and binding machines, which she uses to make her own lego model plan books.
