Sarah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To start up an agrovet business that will also provide her crops and livestock with pest and disease controllers.
Meet 40-year-old Sarah, who carries out farming in the Nkubu area of Eastern Kenya. She has carried out farming for 30 years, and her source of income comes from the sale of milk and crops like maize, potatoes and bananas. She faces the challenge of there being no market for her products, but when she is able to get a ready market, she enjoys the profit she earns out of it. Sarah chose Juhudi Kilimo for this loan because they offer low interest rates on their loans. She also learned that MFIs [micro-finance institutions] do encourage small-scale farmers to develop a lifestyle of saving. This loan will help her start up an agrovet business that will also provide her crops and livestock with pest and disease controllers, thus causing them to produce more. This will improve her income base and hence, improve her family's living standards.
