Yasin's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand his shop and buy more items.

Yasin's story

Yasin is 32 years old and lives in the town of Hoima in the Hoima region of Uganda. He is married and has three children, two of them currently in school. For the past year, Yasin has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which deals in general home products. To help expand his business, Yasin has requested a loan of UGX 2,500,000 from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to expand the shop and buy more items. It will help Yasin to generate greater profits and to buy another piece of land to establish residential houses. Yasin hopes that in the future he will be able to establish a wholesale shop. Yasin is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Yasin who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
