A loan helped to buy supplies and fertilizer in order to maintain the coffee farm.
Celaque Group's story
Glendy is 21 years old and lives in a common law marriage with her husband, with whom she has one son. She lives in the town of Gracias, Lempira. Since she was young she has made a living in agriculture with her father, but for four years she has had her own coffee crop. This activity is the source of income that covers the household expenses. She has asked for a loan in group form, of which she is personally requesting 5,000 Lempiras in order to buy fertilizer and manure, and to prune the coffee farm. Her goal is to provide better support for the farm and to grow as a coffee grower. Her plan is to help her family. The group is called Celaque and is made up of four members who live in the same community and make a living as coffee growers. The group loan that has been requested is for 20,000 Lempiras and is going to be used to purchase fertilizers and supplies to maintain and prune the coffee farm. In the photo the members can be identified as such: on the left is Carmen, then María Nicolasa, María Brígida, and Glendy on the right.
