14 De Junio Group's story

Focal de Panamericana is a group of nine members and is led by a board of directors where Mrs. Candelaria is the President. The businesses that the members have are varied and include macrame blankets, carpentry, sewing sports clothes and pants, selling cosmetics, making wallets and buying and selling used furniture as well as knitting sweaters and sweatshirts. The loan will benefit small businesses in the group where Mrs. Candelaria is a member. She tells us that three years ago she became a member of Pro Mujer. She was invited to join by a promoter from the institution who came to visit her in her home. Currently, she has a carpentry workshop. She says that years ago, when she started her family with her husband, she already had the skills for this kind of work and the two of them decided to invest their money in starting their own business. The loan will be used to have more working capital and to purchase a wood saw that she will purchase in the city El Alto and after she makes her products she will sell them in her space. This work allows her to earn money that makes it possible to support her family and her home. She is married and has two children. When asked what she liked about Pro Mujer, she said that she likes the health and skills training that they provide.
