Maha's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase a sewing machine.
Maha is 54 years old and lives with her husband in the Mount of Olives, East Jerusalem. They have adult children, the youngest of whom is 21. Her husband is unemployed, but receives a disability allowance of just over US$1,000 per month. Maha is a skilled seamstress, making traditional clothing for weddings, and she also sells handicrafts, embroidery and woodwork to sustain a part of the Palestinian tradition. She works with her two daughters and seeks to expand her market by participating in bazaars – she has a local market but wishes to reach a wider group. She has received business training from MATI, a business development foundation in Jerusalem, and is now keen to purchase a better sewing machine to improve the quality and efficiency of her business.
