Jackline's story

Jackline lives in the Kisii area of Kenya, which is an area that is always fresh and fertile for agriculture. She is married, has three children, and has been doing farming for eight years. Her primary income sources are milk and eggs. She also runs a business. She says that she enjoys milking her dairy cows, while her biggest challenge is plowing and digging her farm. When asked why she chose Juhudi Kilimo for this loan, she replied that it offers better services. This client was also asked what was learned during Juhudi's required microfinance training session, she answered that MFIs give their loans at a low interest rate. When asked how this loan would benefit her family, Jackline said, "it will help her purchase a water tank that will help as a water source for irrigation." Jackline owns cows, poultry, a mosquito net, electricity, a TV, and a DVD player but does not own a pig, a pump, a bicycle, a motorcycle, or an automobile.
