Jhon Edison's story
Jhon is a farmer from eastern Antioquia. He is married and is the father of 2 children, aged 6 and 2. His older brother taught him to farm, and when he was young he used to work on different farms in the region, but he decided to become independent and start up his own business. He has a tannery with which he generates the income he needs to support his household. However, with the goal of supplementing his income, he wants to go back to agriculture, planting peas on some rented land. This is why he is requesting a loan to buy agricultural supplies at wholesale (seeds, chemical and organic fertilizers, and pesticides). He will also use the loan to rent a tractor for 20 hours to prepare the land to cultivate the crops. In this way, he will be able to start up his new project, so that he can generate more income to continue to safeguard the welfare of his family. Jhon wants to work very hard so that he can accomplish his dream: to have his own land where he could cultivate his crops. This would reduce his production costs, allowing him to have an opportunity to improve his family's living conditions and welfare.
