María Catalina's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to complete the payment of an active loan with Fundación CAMPO and to repay a friend who had loaned her money to straighten out a health problem for her husband. The rest she will use to buy corn and firewood.

María Catalina's story

María, age 45, lives together with her 65 year old husband. They have two daughters, ages 24 and 20 respectively, and a son who is an electrical technician. Of these, only the last one lives with them; the daughters have gotten married. For more than twenty years, she has worked making and selling tortillas. She does this work with the support of a sister. She has been doing this work since her husband became unemployed. She buys the corn and the firewood from vendors in the area and carries them to her place of business, which is in the garage of her home. The loan will serve to make the payment on a current loan from Fundación CAMPO and to repay a friend who had lent to her to take care of a health problem for her husband. She will use the rest to buy corn and firewood. In this way, she will reinforce her working capital and allow her family to avoid a financial imbalance due to their debts. After this financing, she will be able to buy corn in the harvest season when it can be found at a lower price in the markets, and will pay her debts. She will still have a financial responsibility, allowing her to be able to honor her debts satisfactorily. She plans to continue with her business and support her children so that they can buy their own homes.
