Mayas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy retail space.
Mayas Group's story
The communal association "MAYAS" is going to start its tenth cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Villa Tejada. It has ten members and is led by a management team where Jhovana is the president. The businesses that the members run are varied: dressmaking, wool, sale of kitchen replacements, sale of purses, sale of candy, carpentry, grocery store, sweater making, etc. The loan will benefit small microentrepreneurs, Jhovana among them. She has been part of Pro Mujer for five years, after being invited by a colleague who is a member of the institution. She has a dressmaking studio, a business that she learned from her parents and decided to replicate when she got married. She will use the loan to buy retail space from a gallery in the city of El Alto. This will allow her to generate enough resources to support her household, as she is married and has one child. When she is asked about what she likes in Pro Mujer, she says she enjoys the meetings.
