A loan helped to buy maize and rice.
Ayidekon 1 Group's story
Ayidekon 1 is a group of three women who all live in the same village. The group representative is Denise (seen in the photo with her hand raised). Denise is 30 years old and didn't attend much school. She is married to Rémy and the couple have two children, for whom they are financially responsible. One of the children attends school. Denise lives with her husband and children. The household expenses are paid by the couple. To do this, Denise sells staple foods (maize and rice) locally. She has had this business for three years, and she buys her stocks at a market in Bénin. In order to increase the size of her business, Denise has joined with the other women of the Ayidekon 1 Group to request a second loan from the field partner Alidé. The first loan was repaid without any problems.
