Jhunu, about 40 years old, is the group leader of a four-member group from Burat, M. Rampur, Kalahandi district, Odisha, India. She is running a grocery shop. Her family is comprised of four members including her husband and two sons aged about 22 and 20 years. The member standing first from left with her hand forward is Jhunu. Her husband helps a lot in her business to earn their livelihood. Jhunu is a very active lady who wants some extra income from her efforts. Jhunu, along with three other members of her village, formed a group and this is her third loan from Mahashakti Foundation for the development of their existing business. At present, her family income is Rs 8,500 per month, which is not sufficient to manage her family and to keep pace with the present society. To improve her living conditions and earn some extra income, she wants to take a loan. With the loan, she will add some grocery items like rice, dal, potatoes, onions, wheat, sugar, tea etc. to her existing business. She has a dream of being a grocery wholesaler in her small town. The other three members are Satya, Padmini and Tilottama who have a grocery shop, a medicine shop and a TV and Refrigerator repair shop, respectively.
