A loan helped to buy wool and thread.
Yanaptasiñani Group's story
The communal association “YANAPTASIÑANI” will be starting its thirteenth cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Focal Point of Panamericana. It is made up of eight members and is run by a board of directors of which Alicia is the president. The businesses which the members of the communal association run are varied and among them are: selling blankets, food sales, selling fried fish, bricklayer's assistant, clothing sales and sales of footwear. The loan they will take out will benefit small businesswomen of which Alicia is a member. She says she joined Pro Mujer four cycles ago after being invited by a friend who is a member of the institution. Currently she has a business weaving and selling blankets. She started this business jointly with her family, as she had worked with this product since being a child. When she got married she decided to have her own sales outlet. The loan she will take out now is to increase capital to buy wool and thread which she will buy at the markets in the city of El Alto, then after making the blankets she will sell them at her sales outlet. This type of work helps her to generate income to support her home as much as possible, since she lives with her partner and has 3 children. When she is asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replies that she likes the health area, the training and the loans.
