Taronik village, Armavir Province, Armenia / Agriculture
Srbuhi's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to purchase bottles and cellophane for the greenhouse, buy cucumber seeds and some fertilizers, and renovate the greenhouse.
Srbuhi is a farmer from Taronik village of Armavir region. She lives with her husband, son, and school-age daughter (17 years old). Her husband works in the music school and her son works in the private sector. Srbuhi works in the village's local self-governance body. The family works really hard to be able to earn a living. The family is also engaged in plant cultivation; they have a greenhouse, where they cultivate tomato, cucumber, and pepper. Srbuhi is also engaged in cultivation of watermelon. She currently needs to make some investments in her agribusiness in order for it to function in a sustainable way. A loan of USD 2,500 will be a big support to this hard-working woman and her family, enabling them to purchase bottles and cellophane for the greenhouse, buy cucumber seeds and some fertilizers, and renovate the greenhouse. She has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to return it back. However, thanks to the hard work during the recent times, Srbuhi was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments. So, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history, and have no access to credit products. Srbuhi and her family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them maintain their agribusiness.
