Kotakegne Group's story

The women in the Kotakegne group are all married, are on average 44 years old with five children, and all live in traditional extended families in the village of Tingolé, in the Binko district, which is part of the Dioila prefecture, in Koulikoro (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They met through kinship, neighborhood ties and friendship. They sell condiments, soap, coal and grain. The Kotakegne group of women are on their ninth group loan. Group member Aramata is the first person sitting, and sells grain. With this loan she intends to buy two bags of rice and one bag of peanuts. She expects to achieve an average monthly profit of 10,000 CFA francs which will be reused in the activity.
