Wendy Rosibel's story
Wendy is a very happy, enterprising and dynamic young woman with a great desire to get on in life. She is 21 years old and has 2 young children who are not yet of school age. She has completed her secondary education and graduated as a primary school teacher, and for this reason she is grateful to her parents for the support they gave her. Wendy is also a farmer when she is not at her place of work, which is in the same area where she lives. Her parents taught her to work the land and at the same time she also had training from an institution which provides training and promotes the implementation of new cultivation techniques (APROCAFE). Every day she and her husband go to the area where they grow their crops, 20 minutes' walk away, to do the necessary maintenance and weeding. Wendy's dreams are to be able, over time, to extend her coffee crops, to grow a bigger and better variety which could be more attractive to her customers, to strengthen her assets for her children and to generate enough income to guarantee their future. Now Wendy has asked for a loan which she will use to buy 10 cans of Nutricafe, 5 cans of ALTO 10, 11 cans of Folidol [insecticide], 10 quintals of coffee formula 18-46-00, 10 quintals of urea, 5 quintals of coffee plant formula and 3 quintals of Dolocal [lime] since by applying these products she will be able to promote much better growth of her coffee crops.
