A loan helped to purchase cows.

Roman's story

Roman is a 41-year-old married man. He lives with his wife and three children in a small village in the Marneuli district of Georgia. Roman is actively involved in agricultural activities. He has 2.5 hectare plot of land, where maize is grown; the family also has a greenhouse where they grow cucumbers and tomatoes. Roman is a very hardworking man and always has high-quality products, which he sells to local retailers. Roman has decided to start an additional business, and he has requested a loan to do so. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo, enables him to receive a loan of $3000 for purchasing three cows. As the cows are purchased, his wife will milk them every day and will produce dairy products to sell. This will increase their income and give them a chance to improve their living conditions.
