Vicente's story

This is Vicente, 63, resident of Bacoor, Cavite City, Philippines. He is married to Estrella, a teacher, and they have children. He, together with his wife, manages his household while operating the business. At this time, he is working hard to continually provide income for his everyday expenses. Vicente operates a piggery. He earns by selling live hogs to meat dealers. Sometimes he has the pigs slaughtered and sold in the market. Aside from this he also operates a farm where he gets additional income. His regular customers are his neighbors and the local community. He earns a minimum of 5,000 PHP in sales every week. To help him continue operations of his business, he is requesting a 50,000 PHP loan. He will be utilizing the loan to buy feed and additional hogs. Vicente dreams to have strength and good health to do what he has to do, and he hopes to be successful in business and in life. He meets up with his co-fellowship* members to share stories of his work every week. There, he can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God he studies. *All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
