Bekin's story

Bekin is 58 years old and married. She and her husband are raising six children. She has a secondary education and is involved in animal husbandry, an activity which provides her family with its main source of income. She started in this business five years ago with the purchase of livestock for 6,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Bekin's hard work, her farming business now comprises three dairy cows, three mares and 20 head of sheep. She makes a monthly income of 5,000 som (KGS). In order to further develop her animal husbandry business, Bekin has turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" and requested a loan of 130,000 som (KGS). She will use this loan to buy some cows in order to increase her cattle headcount. Bekin plans to invest the earnings from this loan into further increasing her livestock headcount. She is also planning to save enough money to perform some repairs at home.
