This group is made up of four businesswomen, one of whom is 68-year-old María del Socorro. She is single and has three children. María has had a business selling spices and "pinolillo" (a cornmeal and cacao drink) for ten years. She has been a member of the communal bank for five years. María is applying for this loan to invest in her business and buy prime materials for cereals, such as corn, cacao, firewood, cinnamon, pepper, and clove. Concepción is 44 years old and has a grocery store that she runs out of her home. María is 48 years old and sells food while Rosa is 30 years old and has a business selling new clothes.
