Jilmar's story

Jilmar is 18 years old and was born in Pasorapa, a town eight hours from the city of Cochabamba. He has 12 siblings and is the youngest son. His parents didn't go to school and only the four youngest sons were able to go to the city to access education. His father passed away five years ago and his mother is a housewife. Jilmar now lives with two of his siblings and a nephew. Three months ago he started to study cooking in the afternoons and in the mornings works as a kitchen helper. He is requesting an education loan so that he can finance his chef training course. This is due to the fact that the income he earns is minimal, and in addition he must help with the household finances. His dream is to be the chef of his own restaurant specializing in Bolivian food.
