Leila Irene's story

Leila, 48, is a single mother of three children. She lives with one of her younger daughters in the municipality of Villanueva, Cortes. She started her own grocery business five years ago in order to earn her own income and be able to support her family. She sells basic grains, shortening, bread, soft-drinks, sugar, flour, canned goods, cleaning supplies, snacks, etc. in the grocery store. She’s requested a 21,000 Lempira loan to stock the business and increase inventory and profits. She’ll buy shortening, sugar, rice, eggs, snacks, soft-drinks, dairy products and others to sell. Her goal is to grow as a businesswoman and to keep her store well-stocked.
