Fatmata's story

Meet Fatmata. She is a 43-year-old from Waterloo, eastern area in Sierra Leone. She is married with two children. She has two additional dependents at home. In 2003, Fatmata established a restaurant business within the Waterloo community. She began this business because she wanted to create a permanent source of income to support her children. She works at the business from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is the price inflation of goods. Fatmata requires a loan in order to purchase more soft drinks, beer, bagged rice and cooking seasonings. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to become more successful and pay her children's school fees. In the future, Fatmata plans to expand her restaurant to a higher level. She thanks you for your support.
