She is a hardworking women who raises bananas a few meters from her home and says that she selected this business because she likes it and because she can sell in the local market. Thanks to her parents’ teachings, she is able to work and support her family. She has been doing this for 45 years, which has generated an income and acceptable earnings for her so she can contribute toward the family expenses. Manuela is a community leader and was able to organize a group of women who want to improve their families’ living conditions. This is the reason they are requesting a loan to maintain and buy banana seeds.
